Next Generation Consulting Ranks Hotspots for Young Professionals to Work and Live in the United States

Today, Next Generation Consulting (NGC) announced its "Next Cities" rankings - the best places to live and work for young professionals - in three population categories. NGC tabulated the rankings after collecting and analyzing 45 measures for all U.S. cities with over 100,000 people. Columbus ranks number 10 in the Super Cities category (cities with populations over 500,000). Read more»
JPMorgan Chase to add 1,150 jobs in central Ohio

Chase announced today it will add at least 1,150 new jobs to its central Ohio workforce over the next three years. At least 1,000 of the jobs will be in the city of Columbus; the rest will be in Westerville. Read more»
High-Tech Start-Ups Put Down Roots in New Soil

High-tech start-ups are increasingly setting up shop in places previously not known for attracting high-tech firms.
A number of cities, such as Kalamazoo, Mich., and Toledo, Ohio, are offering grant money and tax breaks to high-tech start-ups, just as the usual venture-capital hot spots, such as Silicon Valley and Boston, continue to see a pullback in venture lending. Many of the nontraditional cities require that start-ups receiving grants invest in their area, leaving companies little choice but to locate -- or relocate -- their businesses.
